A Home-Made Wreath

So I have been longing to start decorating for Christmas, but since I was on bedrest for a week nothing got done until today.  I took down most of the Halloween decorations this morning and started organizing the christmas stuff.  i noticed our wreaths were gone.  Then I remembered the one we had lasst year was real.
Well Dollar Tree was the answer to my problem.  I bought a floral foam circle, 15 foot garland, a bird ornament, and ribbon.
First I wrapped the garland around the floral cirlcle and attached it with the hot glue gun.  Then I cut the bird off the ornament and glued it to the wreath.  I also cut the small pine cones from the ornament and glued them on.  Last I cut ribbon in order to hang and the wreath and I made a bow out of some other Christmas ribbon I had at home.

What do you think?

Made for less about $4.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself.  I am going to see the surgeon at 10:45 to get the tape taken off the 4 incisions.  I am a bit nervous since I have no idea if its going to hurt.  Wish me luck!
Tomorrow I will be posting pictures of what's going on in our house and our lives.  Until then... do something crafty and share it with me please!

Updates ---- It's a bit long

I know I've been a really bad blogger and I'm really sorry. I should show you all my to do lists they are ridiculous. They just keep getting longer and longer... My to do lists have to do lists branching off.
For the past 3 weeks I've been at jury duty... I never thought I would have to serve but I was chosen. After working in a police department for 3 years it was good to see what happened after the fact.
Then this past Sunday I woke up at 4:30 am in excruciating pain. Mind you I had been in the hospital 3 weeks before for gall stones. This was 10 times worse. I took a pain pill but it did not work at all. Wbeimar came to pick me up and drove me to the emergency room. Once again they gave me morphine to get rid of the pain but I still had stones that could pass sooner or later. Did I really want to end up in the hospital every few weeks with this pain? HELL NO!!!! So I read over what the surgery would entail and agreed to it. Thankfully everyone in Hackensack Hospital is amazingly nice and understanding. I had my gall bladder removed on Monday around 3:30 pm. I slept for a few hours and on tuesday I was sent home. I am now in recovery and I'm supposed to be resting (no heavy lifting, can't walk the dog, can't pick up laundry off the floor.) I know they're stupid little things but I miss them so much!!!! I need help getting up from bed, getting dressed, brushing my hair....
Thank God my sister, Wbeimar, Lily and my friends have been so supportive and helpful but I'm not used to letting people take care of me... It's supposed to be the other way around. lol

So my goal for tomorrow is to finish custom baby shower invites, upload some pictures, post on the Girl Scout's blog, register Lily for basketball (which also starts tomorrow), email Margie and start working on X-mas card swap.

So since I can't post without some pictures... Here are some pictures from when Wbeimar and I went pumpkin picking with Lily's class.

We are finally open for business :)

I'm so terribly excited about my new business venture. Who doesn't love a tote bag and who doesn't love something that is actually affordable? All of my bags are under $20 (including shipping) which is perfect for this crazy economy. I hope you can find something you like and maybe do some of your Holiday shopping for family and friends.

For a limited time I am offering free shipping if you purchase 2 or more totes.

I'm still Alive!

Between Girls Scouts, PTA, Soccer, planning 2 Halloween parties, losing weight, decorating for our child friendly Haunted House, starting a new business venture, preparing for a garage sale and taking care of some custom invitations... the last thing I have been thinking about has been my blog.  I'm sorry :(  I have been crafting, but I haven't had time to take pictures.  I will try to come back tomorrow with some things to share.  Love you all!!!

The Engagement Party

My BFF had her engagement party on August 30th. We decorated the tent, cooked for 150 people and made all the souvenirs. It was a long weekend. We just couldn't believe that we put in so much work into everything and the party passed in the blink of an eye, but it was a blast!

Here she is cutting her cake. Isn't she beautiful? We've been best friends since 1999, I can't believe it's been that long. We have been there for each other through absolutely everything. She is more like my sister than a friend.

Here we are after the party. We had all changed. We have all been friends since 1999. These two were some of the few I spent all my time with during high school.
